There are 6 situations in which the lead source may be considered Unknown. See each of them below:
1. Manually inserted leads and imported leads
By default, in RD Station Marketing, manually inserted and imported leads appear in the platform as having an Unknown Source.
This occurs because there is no proof of the source of these leads. Otherwise, they could undermine the reliability of the platform's analysis and reporting.
2. Leads that come from an integrated form
In this case, simply set up the form using the code provided by RD Station Marketing. To perform this setup, access this link.
For any other form that is not integrated with the RD Station Marketing code, you must send this source information to the platform as with input integration via API: by filling in the traffic source field and adding this field to the integration.
3. Tracking code not installed on your website
To resolve this problem, simply install the tracking code.
4. Leads that converted via a different domain
The tracking code only captures the source of conversions carried out via the same domain set up in your RD Station Marketing account. Any conversion carried out via a different page will be recorded as having an unknown source.
5. Leads that converted via Landing Pages without subdomain configured
Without Landing Pages subdomain configuration (CNAME), the address of each Landing Page will be on a domain other than the one configured in your RD Station Marketing account. As a result, these conversions will not have their source identified, as in item 4 of this list.
