To create a segmentation based on how your leads interact with your email campaigns, access Lead Segmentation in RD Station Marketing.
Step-by-step guide to begin setup
- Go to Engage > Lead Segmentation.
- Click Create segmentation.
- Name your segmentation.
- Now, establish your segmentation criteria. That is, select the actions that leads must have performed in order to be included in your segmentation.
- In the first field, you'll find the following options: Lead Data, Funnel, Lead Scoring, Lead Tracking, Conversion, Email Marketing, and Automated Workflow.
- The fields Email Marketing, Automated Workflow, and Conversion are part of the group of segmentations that collect data based on your leads’ interactions with email campaigns. See each of the options below:
Email Marketing Segmentation:
- In the first field, select Email Marketing.
- In the second field, select the name of the email campaign that you want to segment.
- In the third field, select the action type: Opened email or Clicked email link.
- If you select the option Clicked email link, the last field will request that you select either a specific email link or any link.
- Finally, click Save and Exit.
Automated Workflow Segmentation:
- In the first field, select Automated Workflow.
- In the second field, select the workflow name.
- In the third field, select the action type: Opened email or Clicked email link.
- If you select Opened email, choose the campaign name in the last field.
- If you select Clicked email link, please select the name of the email campaign.
- In the last field, specify which link the lead clicked.
- Finally, click Save and Exit.
Conversion Segmentation:
- In the first field, select Conversion.
- In the second field, select the information you want to access: lead converted, lead did not convert or conversion data.
- In the third field, select the option via event, since the segmentation will be based on a conversion event, either via a Landing Page or a Form in your email campaign.
- In the last field, select the conversion event name.
- Finally, click Save and Exit.
Now your segmentation is complete.
Email Marketing Campaign Leads
If you want to find out which leads did not open or click an email, or requested to unsubscribe, among other actions, and use this information in a segmentation, see the step-by-step guide below:
- Go to Engage > Email.
- Select the email campaign you want to analyze.
- Click Campaign Leads.
- On this page, you can filter leads based on how they interacted with your email campaign:
- Choose one of the options and click Filter.
- RD Station Marketing will display only leads that performed the selected action.
- The Actions button allows you to add a tag to identify the leads and handle them differently by creating segmentations based on the tags created.
